The Texas Tribune

I worked with The Texas Tribune’s design team as a Digital Art Assistant to help create digital assets in preparation for their annual Texas Tribune Festival. I was tasked to edit in-house ads, flyers, program pamphlets, signage, and deliverables for a variety of events in part of their Texas Tribune Event series. All modified digital assets were to live on their digital and social media platforms. I also created editorial illustrations and any illustrative elements needed for stories.

While working with them a second time, I drafted flyer designs used in different marketing campaigns geared towards a variety of audiences. I also designed livestream displays, gave feedback during brainstorming logo sessions for editorial stories, and participated in weekly design meetings to discuss program layouts.

I was tasked with drawing two editorial illustrations to accompany a story on why Texas women were dying at alarming rates after childbirth, as well as a resource guide to help Texas mothers combat maternal mortality. The first story, Dangerous Deliveries, won an exemplary journalism award from the Online News Association. Both images are linked back to their corresponding article.
